When couples decide to start a family, they often imagine a future filled with joy, milestones, and unforgettable memories. For some, however, the journey to parenthood comes with unique challenges and difficult decisions.
That was the reality for Charli Worgan and her husband, Cullen Worgan.
The couple has captured the attention of millions online, not because they sought fame, but because of their openness in sharing their experiences as parents living with different forms of dwarfism.
Charli, who is 121 centimeters tall, has a genetic condition known as achondroplasia, the most common form of dwarfism. Cullen also has a form of dwarfism, though his condition is different.
Before they decided to have children, the couple consulted medical professionals to better understand the potential genetic outcomes their children could inherit.
Because each parent has a different type of dwarfism, doctors explained that there were complex genetic possibilities to consider. Certain combinations could result in a child inheriting one parent’s condition, neither condition, or, in some cases, a combination associated with serious health complications.
Facing these realities was not easy.
Like many prospective parents navigating genetic considerations, Charli and Cullen spent significant time learning about the risks, seeking expert advice, and carefully weighing their options.
Ultimately, they made a deeply personal decision to pursue parenthood.
