🤔 A Girl Left This at My Place… What Is It?

I honestly didn’t think much about it at first.

A friend had stopped by for a few hours, and after she left, I started doing a quick cleanup around the apartment. I picked up a few empty cups, folded the blanket on the couch, and was about to throw away some receipts when I noticed something lying on the coffee table.

It was small.

Really small.

At first glance, I assumed it was part of a pen or maybe something that had fallen out of a piece of jewelry. But when I picked it up, I realized it was made entirely of smooth, olive-colored glass.

One end had a perfectly round little ball.

The other had what looked like a tiny fork.

I turned it over in my hands several times.

“What on earth is this?”

My curiosity immediately kicked in.

I tried to remember whether I’d ever seen anything like it before.

Nothing.

It didn’t resemble any kitchen tool I owned. It wasn’t part of my shaving kit. It definitely wasn’t something from my toolbox.

The longer I stared at it, the stranger it seemed.

Naturally, my imagination started filling in the blanks.

Maybe it was some sort of antique medical instrument.

Maybe it belonged in a chemistry lab.

Maybe it was used for jewelry making.

Or perhaps it was one of those oddly specific gadgets that only serves a single purpose.

Since I had no clue, I snapped a photo and sent it to a few friends.

The responses were hilarious.

“It’s probably an old thermometer.”

“No… it’s a perfume applicator.”

“I think it’s for essential oils.”

“My grandmother had something like that.”

Someone even joked that it looked like alien technology.

None of the answers matched.

The mystery only became more interesting.

So I did what almost everyone does nowadays.

I searched online.

I tried every description I could think of.

“Small glass stick with ball on one end.”

“Glass rod with forked tip.”

“Green glass beauty tool.”

Dozens of pictures appeared.

Some looked close.

Others were completely different.

After several minutes of scrolling, I finally found an image that matched perfectly.

The object turned out to be a glass cuticle pusher.

Mystery solved.

I couldn’t believe such a tiny object had such a simple purpose.

For anyone unfamiliar with nail care, a cuticle pusher is a grooming tool used during manicures.

The rounded end is designed to gently push the cuticle—the thin layer of skin at the base of the nail—back from the nail plate.

The forked end helps lift small pieces of dead skin or clean carefully around the edges of the nail.

Unlike metal tools, glass versions have become increasingly popular because they’re incredibly smooth.
