Perhaps the most disturbing aspect of the incident is how ordinary the setting was.
People had gathered to celebrate a child’s birthday.
Families often choose banquet halls for celebrations because they provide space for relatives and friends to eat together, take photographs, exchange gifts, and enjoy an important milestone.
Nobody attending such an event expects it to become the site of a deadly act of violence.
