As for the giant python, wildlife officials noted that invasive Burmese pythons remain a serious ecological challenge throughout South Florida.
These non-native snakes prey on birds, mammals, and reptiles, disrupting the Everglades ecosystem.
The unusual bulge that sparked renewed interest in Anna’s case ultimately turned out to be unrelated to her disappearance.
Yet without that discovery, investigators might never have returned to the isolated area where crucial evidence was eventually found.
